Take your reactive dog’s skills out of the classroom and into the real world!
Reactive Rovers Level Three is designed for dogs and handlers who have successfully completed our earlier Reactive Rovers training and are ready to practice their skills in real-life environments.
Instead of meeting at our regular training location, each week we meet at different public places, giving you and your dog the opportunity to work around the kinds of distractions you actually encounter in everyday life. Depending on the location, that may include other dogs, people, bicycles, traffic, shopping carts, unfamiliar sights and sounds, and other everyday challenges.
We’ll continue using the skills learned in Levels One and Two - including attention and focus, Look At That (LAT), working at an appropriate distance, disengaging from triggers, emergency U-turns, movement exercises, and management strategies - but now we’ll practice them in less predictable environments.
The goal of Level Three is not to see how close your dog can get to a trigger. Instead, we’ll work on helping you read your dog, recognize when they need more distance, make good decisions in the moment, and build your dog’s confidence and ability to stay connected with you in the real world.
Because we are working in public, every outing will be a little different, and that's the point! You'll learn how to adapt your training to whatever the environment gives you while continuing to keep your dog under threshold and set them up for success.
Reactive Rovers Level Three is where training starts becoming everyday life.
Prerequisite: Reactive Rovers Level Two or instructor approval.
Next Class Starts
Level Three always starts the week after Level Two ends.
