Therapy Dog Prep (dogs over 4 months old)
Have a friendly, people-loving dog? Our Therapy Dog Class helps dogs and handlers build the calm, confident skills needed for therapy work in real-world settings. We focus on polite greetings, loose-leash walking, settling calmly, impulse control, and rock-solid basic manners—all taught using positive reinforcement.
Dogs will practice gentle handling and exposure to common therapy-dog environments, including mobility aids, medical equipment, and new sights and sounds. The class wraps up with a special graduation visit at a local nursing home, where teams get to put their skills to meaningful use.
This 5-week series is $150. Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes, with up to two people per dog. Perfect for teams looking to give back, build confidence, and strengthen their bond through purposeful training.
Class Starts:
Tuesday, May 19th at 6:20pm
*Graduation will be held on the 6th week at 5:30pm at a nursing home.
