Ready to take your dog’s good manners out into the real world? Our AKC Canine Good Citizen™ Urban (CGCU) class is designed for teams who want to practice polite, confident behavior in everyday public settings. Building on CGC-level skills, this class focuses on navigating real-life environments like sidewalks, parking lots, parks, and dog-friendly businesses.
Over 5 weeks, you and your dog will work on the CGCU skills, including calm behavior around crowds and distractions, crossing streets politely, settling in public spaces, and handling real-world sights and sounds. Classes meet at different locations around Dane County, giving your dog valuable experience training in a variety of environments. On the final week, your dog will take the CGCU test and have the opportunity to earn their Canine Good Citizen Urban title.
All dogs are welcome, purebred or mixed breed! Our positive, approachable training style keeps training practical, supportive, and fun while helping dogs build confidence and reliability outside of the classroom. This class is ideal for dogs who enjoy outings, are working toward therapy dog goals, or simply want to be excellent companions in public.
The 5-week series is $150. Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes, with up to two people attending per dog. Perfect for teams ready to level up their CGC skills and shine in real-world settings throughout Dane County.
